Emerging Artist Scholarships

Consider the effort put forth by the artists to simply be a part of the 4 Bridges Arts Festival. At AVA, we know that being an artist exhibitor in the Festival takes a considerable amount of time and energy. Artists must create the artwork, as well as acquire a booth and/or display which they must set up and present.  Within the booth space, there must be walls or pedestals on which to display the art, not to mention driving and transport.  A stringent application process precedes all of this hard work.  This process requires that professional images be made and submitted along with application and participation fees - all in a timely fashion and months before the actual event.

For the seventh year, AVA will provide Festival Scholarships to five selected Emerging Artists.  Scholarship applicants are subject to the same jury process as the other artists in the Festival, with the exception of submitting a booth shot.  Scholarship applicants were also required to submit a resumé, short bio and an essay of up to 400 words regarding his/her work.

In 2010, the five individuals selected for the 4 Bridges Arts Festival Emerging Artist Scholarship receive:
•  A day-long workshop, taught by veteran artists/exhibitors, which aids in pricing work, marketing, customer relations and more
•  500 business cards
•  Free booth space in the 4 Bridges Arts Festival (valued at $375)
•  Screens on which to display artwork

We congratulate our emerging artists and encourage you to visit them and celebrate this opportunity as they receive a “jump-start” into the world of festivals!
